Job Description:

The Albion College Department of Athletics invites applications for the position of Director of Aquatics. This is a 10 month administrative position with employment beginning August 1st, 2012. Albion College offers 21 intercollegiate sports as a NCAA Division III liberal arts institution and a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Director of Aquatics will serve as the Head Men s and Women s Swimming Coach, as well as, manage the Aquatic Center.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: a)constructing & administering swimming workouts, including conditioning, technique training and mental preparation, b)recruiting, fundraising, and budgeting for the Swimming and Diving program, c)scheduling meets, practice and open swim, d)serving as meet manager for all home meets and arranging team meals, travel, and lodging for away meets, e)Hiring, supervising, and evaluating any Assistant Coaches and all pool staff, f) purchasing supplies, scheduling maintenance and maintaining Health Department records for the Aquatic Center and the college s canoe house, g) organize and maintain a community membership program for the Aquatics Center. This is a full-time 10 month appointment that begins August 1, 2012.

Qualifications Include;

* Bachelor s degree required, Master's degree preferred.
* 2-3 years experience in collegiate coaching or 4-5 years combined experience as a collegiate swimmer and competitive coach.
* Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
* Experience recruiting
* Experience maintain and managing an aquatics center
* Excellent knowledge of stroke mechanics and conditioning techniques
* Current instructor certifications in Lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid
* Pool operator certification preferred.
* CDL driver s license recommended
