Description

Direct management responsibility for up to 10 BASF professional personnel and up to 5 contract professionals who provide technical and project support to the Wyandotte site manufacturing plants

Talent development and performance management for all BASF direct personnel under their area of responsibility

Safety leadership by example within the NCE/W organization and Wyandotte site to achieve safety performance excellence

Responsibility for the execution of all capital projects up to investment amounts of approximately $10M that resonate within the NCE/W organization to assure adherence to all internal policies and procedures and external applicable regulations

Participation on site leadership teams and initiatives in individual contributor and leadership role to achieve site operational excellence

Function as a member of the NCE/W leadership team to provide optimal technical and project support to all sites who are linked to the NCE/W organization

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

A BS degree in an engineering discipline is required. A professional engineering license is desired although not required.

Required Knowledge and Experience

At least 10 years industrial experience in a chemical plant or related industry and at least 12 years professional engineering experience.

Two years demonstrated experience as a technical leader in a direct supervisory or functional leadership role

Project experience in the role of project manager or manufacturing representative leading or working on teams comprised of engineering professionals

General knowledge of chemical industry standards, policies and regulations e.g. Process Safety Management

Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, personal motivation and personal adaptability skills

Working knowledge of chemical process equipment including but not limited to rotating, heat transfer, solids handling, storage tanks and vessels

Desired Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of the BASF Ecology, Health and Safety Standards,

Knowledge of the BASF Project Execution Roadmap

Working knowledge of process measurement and control instruments

Basic understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Ability to interact and communicate at a high competency level in manufacturing technical discussions.
