Dawn Foods, Inc. is currently seeking a Human Resources Intern for February through August 2012. This very exciting internship will give you experience partnering with our business leaders at Dawn. You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on Dawn s 4,000 employees. Your time with us will be spent helping to develop and execute companywide employment practices, policies and programs and updating the employee handbook. You will gain valuable work experience preparing you for a career in HR. We would like to have you be a part of our TEAM DAWN this summer!!
Position Details:
Support the Human Resources department by completing assigned projects
Assist in the development of a qualifications catalog for the talent management function of Dawn Foods.
Questions and Questionnaires development for candidates when they go through the application process
resource needs, issues, and practices of locations
Develop and present training programs pertaining to recruiting practices
Train local HR leads on new recruiting system and deployment
Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for functions related to recruitment practices
Coordinate the relationships and partner with multiple human resources functions to provide optimal service delivery
Conduct organizational audits/needs assessments and recommend intervention strategies
Provide leadership in the development of human resources policies and programs, specifically related to recruitment and employee relations
Consult with field operations on policies and employment legal compliance issues including performance management, disciplinary processes, legal inquiries and general employment law.
Partner with the legal department to review impact. .
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Solid oral and written communication skills
Display strong quantitative and analytic skills required
Experience with MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet and website navigation
Ability to learn HR structure, operations, policies and procedures
Ability to motivate people and achieve goals
Ability to maintain positive, effective working relationships, facilitate adult learning, promote teamwork and provide exemplary customer service
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high volume environment
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree and currently pursuing a Master s in Labor and Industrial Leadership (MLIR) or equivalent discipline
