Parts manufacturer, NSS Technologies, is searching for an experienced HR leader for the position of Human Resources Manager at its Plymouth, Michigan plant. NSS is a company of approximately 125 employees and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of $7B parent company, Precision Castparts Corporation www.precast.com (NYSE:PCP).
The Human Resources Manager reports to top management at NSS and has one full-time non-exempt direct report (the Human Resources Representative) who handles time and attendance tracking, worker s comp administration and all other benefits administration.
The ideal HR Manager candidate will demonstrate a high-energy level with strong interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead people in the achievement of organizational excellence.
Areas of Responsibility:
* Recruiting. Personally performs full-cycle recruiting of hourly and professional talent at NSS.
* Human Capital Planning. Responsible to drive the training, development, retention and succession planning for the organization.
* HR Metrics. Reports and tracks key HR metrics such as headcount and turnover.
* Employee Relations. NSS is a non-unionized, three shift operation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop rapport, inspire trust and confidence and bring problems to resolution in the interest of both the employee and the business. Drives and facilitates skip-level meetings with hourly associates to surface and address employee questions and concerns.
* Supervisor coaching & employee performance management. Provides coaching and training for managers, supervisors and production leads on subjects such as interviewing, performance appraisals, harassment prevention, safety incident reporting, proper disciplinary action etc.
* Change management. Helps management lead the organization through change via creative problem solving and timely, effective messaging.
* Compliance. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of a public company, NSS must achieve excellence in its SOX, AA and DOL compliance. Must have a demonstrated knowledge of state and federal labor laws.
* Compensation structuring/planning. Reviews, researches and plans out compensation structures and strategies for hourly and salaried employees.
* HRIS and HR Tool development. Ability to identify efficient ways of delivering HR services to the organization through process and technology upgrades.
* Benefits. Has a firm grasp of medical benefit structures and how to drive out cost while maximizing benefits.
* Safety. The HR Manager serves as a key leader in the area of safety and manages worker s compensation claims.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
* BS in Human Resources Management or a related field.
* 7-10 years of progressive HR experience.
* PHR or SPHR certification is strongly preferred
* 5+ years of successful management experience.
* Must have previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Must have served in at least one previous position reporting to top management.
* Demonstrated ability to build trust at all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality.
* Motivated by continuously improving the HR side of the organization.
