KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions of electrical / electronic components of Siding production machines * Programs and operates test equipment * Installs, sets up, calibrates instrumentation controls * Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on equipment * Plans projects utilizing knowledge of technical requirements, analysis of blueprints and electrical schematics * Builds metal frames and stand for electrical equipment QUALIFICATIONS: Skills, knowledge, abilities: * Excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills * Working knowledge of electronic diagnostic tools * Excellent knowledge of plant / product / production process * Good safety record and thorough knowledge of current safety rules and regulation * Knowledge of computers and computerized controls * Ability to understand and apply information gained from technical manuals, blueprints and electrical schematics * Knowledge of operations of tools such as torches, welders, grinders, and hand tools Education: * High school diploma or equivalent * 2 years vocational / technical school training desirable Experience: * 4 years experience as industrial electrician Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Dusty plant environment with moving machinery, and need to work at substantial heights and in confined spaces. * Exposed to danger of electrocution, burn and chemical hazards * May suffer eye strain from computer screens, blueprint reading, working with small wires and components * May be subject to stress due to time pressures associated with performing tasks while production is interrupted Other duties or responsibilities not listed above may be assigned as necessary.
