Gast Manufacturing, a division of IDEX, is currently seeking a driven Regional Sales Manager - Northeast US with an expertise in maintaining and expanding relationships, primarily in the distribution channel. The RSM is responsible for driving the sales strategy & revenue within their assigned accounts/assigned region. The RSM also drives the organization to improve its business processes to insure better market support of their region overall and improved customer engagements. This role will have responsibility for territory management, which is comprised of a limited number of strategic customers supported independent of distribution as well as customers supported through regional distributor organizations. The RSM is expected to cover the entire NE United States, from Pennsylvania to Maine with frequent travel and overnight trips required (50-75% travel).

Today, we offer a comprehensive line of air motors, compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers for a variety of market applications. If it's an agricultural, industrial or medical application, you'll likely find a Gast product powering the air that makes things happen. The broad range of OEM's and customers that look to Gast for their pneumatic needs demonstrates the versatility and flexibility of our air moving products. A strong background in Engineered Products is essential to success in this role, as is a degree in Engineering. Some of the market applications in the NE region that use our products include medical device manufacturers, cable pressurization manufacturers, and septic/sewage treatment specialists - so a technical knowledge of these products would be beneficial.

Our compensation plan with base plus quarterly bonus will greatly reward your superior performance against an established plan as you leverage your relationship building and passion for sales. As our Regional Sales Manager your primary mission will be to lead the business development by aggressively penetrating and dominating our market. Your proven ability to exceed sales quotas and build consultative sales relationships will be critical to your success in this rewarding position. You will work closely with the Operations and Engineering teams as you complete needs assessments for our clients, lead contract negotiations, and act as a liaison between our company and our customers. The commercial process for these highly engineered products typically takes 4-6 months, so your persistence and relationship building skills will be essential. Your aptitude for listening to the clients and engaging in meaningful business relationships paired with your knowledge of our products, industry, and your territory will ensure that you are significantly rewarded. POSITION FOCUS:

1. Primary Accountability is to meet/exceed Regional Revenue plan in assigned territory and through teaming with designated accounts.

2. Assist in developing and implementing growth strategies and initiatives within their territory as defined by North American Sales Director/VP Sales/Product Leadership. RSM/ is responsible for driving growth in both OEM and Distribution Channels as indicated by assigned accounts.

3. RSM is responsible for effective utilization of factory resources to support customer programs/customer satisfaction and to drive new business opportunity (NBO) growth in the region.

4. Provide technical and selling expertise to AD's at target customers to maintain existing business and to drive NBO closure at existing and new customers. This includes supporting new product introduction (NPI) process by teaming with AD's to develop target customer list and deploy a campaign around NBO development.

5. Drive effective NBO generation activities through lead qualification and teaming with the reps/AD's which results in capturing new business revenue in the AD's defined region.

6. Responsible for building strategic management/executive relationships with key customers to support the overall strategy with customer. This involves development of effective relationships to empower Catalog Distribution strategy and growth, and includes regular leadership review of commitments and achievements to better align our mutual companies around agreed targets.

Qualifications

This position requires a candidate to exhibit the highest standards of integrity, build relationships with customers, deliver on all commitments, and be a highly motivated team player. In addition, this position requires an individual to be selected based on the following criteria:

* A minimum of 5-10 years of high level OEM sales, and specific expertise in the area of distribution management.
* Proven ability to develop business through 3rd party engagements (AD's, Manuf Reps, System Integrators)
* Proficient at translating technical product information into sales strategy to drive revenue
* BS in engineering or related discipline required
* Successful experience calling on Senior Management at customers and distribution partners
* Superior written and verbal communication skills & presentation skills - ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
* Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, global business environment
* Computer Skills (Excel/Word Processing/PowerPoint Presentations)
* Up to 70% Travel is essential
* Excellent listening skills
* Team player
