Job: Senior Actuarial Analyst-Individual Business Pricing

Jobing Description

Responsible for performing more complex calculations, analysis and actuarial research used for financial forecasting with limited direct supervisory review.

Perform moderately complex actuarial analyses and calculations using knowledge and demonstrated application of actuarial methods and practices, determining priorities and procedures. Ensure completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of all insurance data used in the production of outputs. Participate in the projection and analysis of product profitability. Calculate premium rates, dividends and reserves for existing plans of moderate complexity. Apply relatively complex actuarial techniques needed to perform analyses and calculation. May provide technical guidance to less experienced professionals and technicians. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or related area required.
* Minimum of three (3) years actuarial experience, including at least one year at the Actuarial Analyst level or comparable experience at another company.
* Earned at least three (3) course credits towards the attainment of the FSA designation and is a member, in good standing, of the Actuarial Student Program.
* Knowledge of actuarial methods and practices used to perform moderately complex actuarial analyses and calculations.
* Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
* Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.

DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have experience in performing analysis and actuarial research for pricing with limited direct supervisory review.

Must have experience with independently identifying analytical problems and developing solutions.

With limited guidance, communicate actuarial problems, approaches, solutions, risks and implications to team members, internal clients and leadership.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES

Health Insurance experience in the Small Group or Individual business areas preferred.
