Job: Senior Director of Construction

Jobing Description

Village Green has an open Senior Director of Construction position in our Construction Division.

The Senior Director of Construction is responsible for the day-to-day decisions of running construction projects, as well as, providing primary contact with client/customer counterparts to ensure execution within scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives for multi-family housing projects.

* Responsible for the overall administration and execution of assigned projects in a safe, profitable and timely manner
* Manages the work in a manner consistent with standards of quality and integrity
* Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
* Participates as requested in the marketing, estimating, bidding and contract negotiation phases of the projects assigned
* Fully responsible for preparation of project work plans, schedules, estimates, and other planning documents meeting client's scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives. This involves generation of the documents, soliciting and incorporating input from technical specialists, and ensuring a high-quality, complete document is generated that fully meets customer expectations from a quality, regulatory, and technical standpoint
* Directly responsible for baseline management of project activities under his/her direction
* Monitors baseline plans for change; supports timely invoicing, tracking of accounts payable, variance analysis and identifying corrective actions. Includes generation of procurement specifications and negotiation of subcontracted scopes of work and budgets
* Supports or negotiates approval of plans, schedules, and cost estimates through direct interaction with client and project personnel.
* Coordinates and oversees staffing requirements and efforts of assigned personnel in carrying out project specific activities to ensure project objectives are met

Requirements

The Senior Director of Construction Candidate must have the following:

* Must have at least 5 years experience as a Project Manager in the multi-family, construction arena
* Must have LEED Certification
* College degree in construction management or related field preferred
* Possess strong customer service abilities
* Be proficient in MS Office products
* 20% travel required
* Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with residents, supervisors, vendors, and others
* Excellent problem solving and project management skills
* Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner
