Position Summary: Academic Specialist, one-year appointment, renewable annually based upon performance and availability of funding.

Agricultural Industries Coordinator - This position would be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Institute of Agricultural Technology Agricultural Industries certification program within the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences. This position will provide leadership for the Agricultural Industries Certificate Program. Responsibilities include: (1) counseling and advising students in the Agricultural Industries Program; (2) student recruitment and internship placement; (3) teaching courses in leadership, career development, communications, and possibly developing and teaching other courses in the candidate's area of expertise and/or as needed by the program; (4) supervising student internship experience; (5) fostering a working relationship with the agricultural industry, high school counselors and teachers, and diverse communities throughout Michigan; and (6) evaluation of the Agricultural Industries program and curriculum.
Faculty: Minimum Qualifications
Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Required: Masters of Science in an agricultural-related discipline; Teaching experience; Experience in program management and evaluation.
Typing Requirements (wpm):
Desired Qualifications: Preferred: Experience in recruitment and retention of students; Teaching experience at the secondary level; Agricultural business experience; Skills in career planning and placement.
