Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting opportunity for a Center of Expertise (CoE) Regulatory Specialist

 

Job Purpose:

  • Center of Expertise (CoE) Regulatory Specialists are responsible for identifying and delivering market leading work products in their aligned competency.
  • CoE Regulatory Specialists work in close partnership with the CoE Regulatory Group Leader to ensure all projects, plans and resources are in place, properly utilized and aligned in order to achieve the required competency area success.
  • CoE Regulatory Specialists are available to develop, support, facilitate implementation and maintain the Regulatory work processes, standards, best practices and most effective technologies; coordinate and align priorities and initiatives; audit the effectiveness of processes and implementation; analyze performance data for trends and identify opportunities for improvement across the company.
  • Provide consultation, regulatory support, training, guidance, and information to Leaders, Managers and Employees to achieve business goals and strengthen the commitment to core values.
  • Represent the company with Regulatory Agencies for assigned responsibilities, and maintain significant regulatory expertise in the broad areas in which they operate.

Responsibilities:

 

Planning
  • Align personal and team objectives with Geographic, Function and Team Regulatory strategies, priorities and resources.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regulatory CoE Group Leader, Sites, and Leveraged/Regional EHS personnel to ensure plans are well communicated and supported.
  • Assist Regulatory CoE Team with aligning priorities, setting objectives, tracking progress, evaluating performance and providing feedback.
Work Processes / Improvement
  • Effectively support the Business Platforms and Regions in order to improve work processes and directly support Businesses, Regions and Sites as assigned.
  • Analyze EH&S key metrics, leading indicators, performance data and task specific metrics in order to identify trends, drive improvement project development and validate project success.
  • Development and maintenance of Corporate Regulatory Standards, guidance, implementation tools and training material as assigned.
  • Measure project performance against goals, client expectations and develop improvement plans based on feedback.
  • Validate CoE competency work product meets Corporate Regulatory Standards and current governmental regulatory standards/guidance, including individual country requirements.
  • Ensure CoE competency work product is in alignment and properly documented within CAMS (Corteva Management System).
  • Support, facilitate implementation and maintain regulatory work processes, best practices and most effective technologies.
  • Utilize and provide improvement input for the protocols utilized for self-assessment and audits to measure the effectiveness of processes, standards and best practices.
  • Support and participate in the EH&S Auditing and Compliance programs as needed.
  • Accountable for the timely incorporation of changes in governmental regulatory standards and/or guidance into Expert Competency work products utilizing Corteva MOC process.
  • Validate project expenses are managed to meet CoE spending plans.
  • Lead, facilitate, and/or participate in expertise area Incident Root Cause Analyses as assigned.
  • Leads and/or facilitates implementation and utilization of regulatory area work processes / tools as assigned.
  • Provide effective regulatory consultation, advice and information to sites, leaders, managers and employees to achieve EH&S success and performance excellence.
  • Assist with site responses to geographic EH&S / ER&S issues and crises that affect operations consistent with site, business, and corporate "license to operate" requirements. 
  • Align with IT initiatives, updates, cyber security processes and tools.
Expertise
  • Ability to Lead Regulatory Driven Projects (permit applications, regulatory change impacts, MOC's, etc.) for facilities globally
  • Partner with Regions and Sites to develop SOP's as required for Regulatory Compliance
  • Perform Subject Matter Expert Role for assigned Regulatory Subjects
  • Lead Regional Regulatory Interpretation Management System(s) as assigned
  • Develop and Maintain Company Standards and Tools as assigned
  • Develop and provide Regulatory Training across a broad array of regulatory subjects
  • Represent the company with Agency Personnel as required to support company Operations
  •  Track Regulatory Changes and provide effective interpretation(s)
  • Regulatory Support of the CAMS
  • Ability to Supervise Contractors and Consultants in an efficient and cost effective manner
Networking
  • Facilitate seeking out market leading work processes, tools, and concepts to advance EH&S CoE's work products.
  • Participate in Global EH&S, industry networks, and as appropriate cross-functional networks to enhance knowledge transfer and performance improvement.
  • Provide market leading support for Regulatory advocacy initiatives including proactive value-based participation as indicated by EH&S CoE Regulatory Group Leader in relevant industry and professional associations and external networks.
  • Accountable for alignment to networks / publications / expertise to facilitate staying abreast of changing regulatory requirements.



Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (4/5 yrs) in Engineering or similar scientific discipline is required; Advanced Degree Preferred
  • Professional Environmental Certification (PE, REM, CHMM, etc.) desired
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience at a Specialist Level, knowledge and skills in a manufacturing / industrial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively represent a company involved in complex agency negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to read and effectively interpret complex regulations
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to travel 10-30%
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
